I could not imagine living in a country that did not have a criminal justice system. I would live my life day to day in fear of being hurt and not having anyone to turn to in order for justice to be served. I am glad that I live in an error where there is a criminal justice system put into place to try and ensure the safety of the citizens in the communities. Although it is not a perfect criminal justice system but it is still a system that works for majority of the situations that occur. Criminals sometime get away with crimes without going to jail and sometime innocent people go to jail. Just like every other system they criminal justice system has its flaws. However, the criminal justice system has save many lives and has come a long way since the 1700 because of the three components that it is comprised of. The police department patrols the streets and arrives at the scene when they are called in order to keep the citizens safe. The court systems helps to get justice for people by letting them plead their case so they can fight for their innocents and the corrections portion of the system give criminals an opportunity to server their time in a secure and safe place.
