Many billions of years ago a “big bang” and matter was born. Rocks, hydrogen and oxygen where made. Water was made and water is key to life. Without water there would be no life. It’s the one thing that life must have in order to be life. Mysterious forces of mass. In the emptiness of space, the size of objects creates gravity. The bigger the object the stronger the gravity. Through some unknown cause a glowing ball of gas that burns for billions of years is at the center of what is now our solar system. This object is so immense is gravity goes beyond 7,440,000,000 miles trapping anything that falls into its gravity. Giant space rocks of all sizes fall into orbit around the sun where more ice balls of frozen metal get too close to the sun and melt. Cause some to crash into other rocks. This rock that is super-hot and more like a world of lava with boiling pools of melted toxic bubbling liquid. Turning any ice that falls towards this horrendous place into an explosion of steam. Making a gas cloud around this liquid like world. Many billions of years of cooling to solidify this place that has a much more appealing look. Finally, there are oceans, rivers, mountains, lakes, streams, clouds, waterfalls, rain, but not one living cell on this entire planet. Form an unknown force of what is now nature a man is created he has a long beard and a gray like blue cloth. He sees this empty world and creates with his hands from the mud he had stepped in animals. He crafted this animals form mud and when he was done they would move. From all shapes and sizes. Some that fly to some that swim to ones that do both. To ones that have seventy-five legs to ones that have four. He saw that something was missing so he created plants ones that grow on land and in water. To some that are poisons to some that were edible. When he was done he was lonely so he looked at himself in a pool of water and created women.

Pacing back and forth, I pondered how our volleyball fundraiser was going to stay afloat. The council was distraught, unable to acquire more teams, with the tournament in two days. With our advisors and the vice principal leaning towards canceling the event, my council had two choices: get eight more teams to sign up or call off the event. I didn’t want to cancel because I knew that as Junior and Senior year approached, we needed more money to fund our proms and class trips.…

Christianity as we know it today has been influenced by many religions and cults during its rise in popularity and power. Christianity comes from Judaism, so of course it will have some of the same stories and values that the Jews had. Judaism was also influenced by Babylon during its Captivity and we can see some similarities between them. Some cults like the Cult of Mithra helped Christianity gain popularity among the low class people of the Roman Empire. Even though many stories, practices and values come from different religions the main reason of Christianity doesn’t change and that is the good news of Jesus Christ.…

Man is created from the blood of the defeated god, Kingu, the material itself representing a lesser, conquered life. Marduk created man for service to the gods, “I will create man who shall inhabit the earth, That the service of the gods may be established, and that their shrines may be built.” Man’s purpose was to work not for himself but for the glory of Marduk and the gods. In Genesis, man is created in God’s image, making him somewhat an equal. Conversation between God, man and woman is frequent.…

The “creation story” is different because animals play a big role in how the humans survived. A woman fell from the skyworld and a turtle saved her. She needed soil to create land, vegetation and trees. Animals would try and try to go deep down in the ocean to get soil to start a land. Finally a small otter like animal reached the bottom and came up with a little tiny portion of soil.…

This transportation of water and exchanged energy converts from one state to another driving the climate and weather system. This is the largest chemical flux on the planet It does not look like there is a starting point for this cycle. Water stores in lakes and the ocean, transpires into the air creating condensation, precipitation back onto the planet's surface creating runoff, running into the ground creating ground water, and eventually making its way back to lakes and the ocean. This terrestrial system is continuous supporting life on the planet.…

I started writing then because of a troublesome past, both my mother and my father had left my two other siblings and I all alone, leaving us with our uncle. It was very hard for me to adjust, I was fatigued and emotionally hurt, I turned to writing. My love for writing grew into a bigger part of my life when I kept dream journals.…

When I was younger, I would eat up books faster than I got them. I’d frequently been caught reading books in the zaniest of places. I remember wanting to try writing, although I could never fully convey the words in my mind onto paper. Every once in a blue moon when I was able to; only I could understand what I wrote. It had fascinated me, and honestly frustrated me, that people could write these whimsical and arcane books that I’d held onto like a mother to her child.…
