Science is involved in the creation of the universe and natural disaster. Scientist- theologian John Polkinghorne made a key suggestion about the creation of the universe and the natural disasters that follow (Polkinghorne 1). Like many, Polkinghorne believes that God makes natural processes like earthquakes run freely. This means that God created an universe with particular natural laws. Based on the information provided, God is not responsible for natural disasters like earthquakes that occur on earth. According to National geographic, 80 percent of all the planet’s earthquakes occur along the rim of the Pacific Ocean ( National Geographic 1). Most earthquakes occur at fault zones which means that the tectonic plates slide against each other causing stress between one another. When the two plates rub against each other, they catch on one another. The process is not run smoothly because the tectonic plates push against each other without any movement. After a while, the rocks break because of all the pressure that 's built up. This happens when the rock underground breaks suddenly. When the stress finally builds up, it releases, sending seismic waves which are also known as vibrations. The vibrations are responsible for making the ground shake. When the rocks break, the earthquake occurs. Earthquakes are all normal geographical behaviors of the earth.
An earthquake can be good because in a destructive plate boundary an earthquake occurs and on the borderlines of the…
