Double-Kings “Myth” is a description of fictitious story created long time ago, it passed down from generation to generation (thesaurus.com). In Greek culture, there is a myth that tells the origin of mankind, it is “The Creation” and in Vietnam, it is “Con Rong Chau Tien” (vuoncotich.com).
“The Creation” is an old myth from Greece in Greek Language. From the first day on the earth no one lived there, only Chaos. This Chaos created Erebus – the unknowable place where Silent, Endless, Dark lived. After many years, Gaea – the mother of Nature gave birth for Uranus and he became Gaea’s husband. Fairy was reperesented for Au Co. This person symbolized empathy, hope, will and devotion. Both myths were showing to the viewers the origin of human. How our old generation was born also to respect the people who born them, In Greek, they made temple of Zeus, Olympia to appreciate and respect what he had done for people and in Vietnam, they made a shrine to show people’s respect to their mighty gods – Lac Long Quan – Au Co and Vua Hung. “The Creation” showed us these Gods was very cruel especially Uranus and Cronus. Both of them ate their all children because they didn’t want to die or lost their lands. But in the “Con Rong Chau Tien” showed us the bravery of Lac Long Quan. Because of love, He sacrificed himself to take Au Co away and love till die. After that, they together created one hundred children, they grew up to continue as descendants of their parents and created the human. The theme of “The Creation” myth was darker than the “Con Rong Chau Tien” myth’s but both of them showed us the origin of human.
