Scott’s case had many more impacts than most think, because without his case Abraham Lincoln may not have been elected when he did. Slavery could have possibly continued on longer without the help of Dred Scott. The Civil War also seems to be an impact from the famous case of Dred Scott. Without taking a bold stand and fighting tirelessly for his freedom, society could be quite different than the way that it is now. Modern society owes a great deal to Dred
