Abbe Faria was a kind, generous and father-like man. He used his knowledge for the greater good. Alexander Dumas, the author of, “The Count of Monte Cristo”portrayed Abbe has a savoir and a teacher. Edmond Dantes was sentenced to jail for a crime he did not commit. While he was locked away, he was sure that he would never get out of jail. He lost hope in himself, and he began doubting everything about God. Edmond was lost; he only saw one way out of his misery and that was to end his life. Edmond was trying to starve himself, but he hears this tapping on his cell wall. He had this new hope and happy filling in his heart. He began breaking through the wall until he found his savior: Abbe Faria. After that Edmond and Abbe worked together to escape from the prison. One of Abbes was to save Dante and to help him find himself. After Edmond have gotten out of jail. He was able to hear his savior’s voice. …show more content…
He showed him how to stay positive no matter what is happening in life. Abbe was in the same position as Dante and Abbes was able to hold on to a tiny little shred of hope; he was able to see the good in all things, and kept trying and fighting to get out of prison. Abbe taught Edmond the principle and morals of life, but he also taught him to read and write. Edmond learned how to speak many languages. He learned about chemistry and about there history. Abbe was the greatest teacher and mentor to Edmond. He was able to accomplish so much because of this wise old
