A Comedian, Television Producer, Film Actor, and Television Actor, William Henry “Bill” Cosby has become one of the most famous African-Americans to date. Cosby grew up in a neighborhood called Germantown located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During his earlier years life was rough, After Cosby’s father began excessive drinking, the family began to run into financial difficulties. Eventually, Cosby’s father enlisted in the military and as a result of this Cosby became the “man” of the house and had to work multiple jobs in order to assist his mother with any financial troubles. Regardless of their troubles, Cosby’s mother still wanted her children to focus on their education. However during his high school years, Cosby dropped out and just as his father did, Cosby enlisted in the military. During his time in the military, Cosby worked with medicine and also joined the militaries track team. Soon Cosby regretted dropping out of high school and realized the importance of education and decided to earn a high school equivalency diploma. Afterwards Cosby attended college at Temple University and even got a job at a local bar doing stand up …show more content…
This show was titled “The Cosby Show” which was based off of Cosby’s real family, each character in the show portrayed the real person in some way or another. The show aired for 8 years and during this, Cosby continued to do many other things including returning to the film industry as well as becoming the Jell-O spokesman for his talents with children. After “The Cosby Show”, Cosby went off to continue his career on television with shows like “The Cosby Mysteries” and “Cosby”. However during his time with the show “Cosby”, Cosby lost his only son who was murdered on a California highway.
