It looks like this article does not provide any information related to your hypothesis (the correlation between age and the use of social media). Even though it would help to extend an additional research question (e.g., if the older PIO are less likely to use social media, what are their reasons?), I would suggest you either exclude this reference or add a new research question (instead of a new hypothesis).

That is, age is a significant factor of the social media use in a normal life. However, we have no idea whether it is also the case in emergency management. You should use this article in your introduction section.
On one hand, I think this article pointed out the impact of age on PIO’s social media usage. On the other hand, I am not sure whether this article provide any hypothesis or theory regarding to your research question and provide any suggestions on how to measure dependent (usage) and independent (age) variables. If not, this article would only be used in your introduction section (reinforce your research motivation). If yes, retrieve those information in your literature review section.
I agree that the third article indicated that there is a significant drop of the social media usage between the people whose age is over and below 50 year old. However, if you want to focus on PIO with age over 50 years old, you should somewhat revise your hypothesis. On the other hand, age can be an independent variable and measured by a ratio scale and test directly by a correlational …show more content…
Please note, if you want to extend the idea from this article and focus the age impacts on a specific group (PIO with age over 50), please mention your intention in your topic and revise your hypothesis (e.g., A PIO with age over 50 would be less likely to use social media than a younger PIO).
Even though I think in a master level your research design is good enough, to include the ideas from all of the references you read and make this study much better complete, I encourage you to develop some more sub-hypotheses and one additional research question:
The reason to create an additional research question is to collect data helping forward researches examine this issue deeply. You don’t need to formulate any new hypothesis. Instead, you just need to describe the possibilities (I will state that later below).
No matter you accept these suggestions are fine, it won’t hurt any on the grade of your final proposal.
(1) Even though you separate cases into two groups, it won’t be an experimental design or quasi-experimental design. It is because “age” is not a treatment. A possible way to examine your hypothesis is to conduct a survey which is a non- experimental
