Monsanto is a pesticide manufacturer that produced somatotropin, which is a genetically modified chemical. Somatotropin is injected into cows, and as a result the cow produces more milk. This pesticide injected into the cow has horrible consequences for the cow because the cow could be in pain as a result. Injecting cows with harmful substances for the benefit of milk sellers is unethical to both the cow and to those who drink the milk. Farmers inject Posilac rBST into the cows that are healthy to produce more milk. Genetically modified food is not expensive, but it is cruel for our bodies. Genetically modified foods produced larger crops that grow faster. Furthermore, cows that are injected with artificial hormones have the possibility of getting “mastitis”, an infection in the cow’s udders. The infection can cause pain to the cow since the milk ducts are clogged and the udders become inflamed. When people drink this milk from infected cows, people are more likely to catch that infection themselves. When the cow has an infection, the company injects the cow with antibiotics to combat the infection, which can reduce or get rid of mastitis. When they told their boss what they needed to do, Fox News declined to listen to them due to the fear of getting sued, losing advertisements, and losing money. They talked to Fox News lawyers after being fired and said that the human beliefs, values and health should be more important than making money. Then the Monsanto corporation tried to settle with Jane only if she did not talk about Monsanto and their procedures, but she refused.
