All the commercials and promotions define what we should wear, eat, and do. We cannot say that television, for example, did not influence our ideas and values. They try to influence the buying habits of children at the youngest age. The proper definition of a corporation is to be profitable as much as possible. Corporation are legally required to act to the greatest advantage of the benefit of shareholders, and not for the general great. Corporation uses this definition to explain their negative effects to the society. The corporation can be harmful for the environment when the profit overwrought the cost. Bakan cites an example about General Motors, the corporation compared the cost of trying to replace in a safer place the gas tanks and the cost of paying off victims.
