every year, new enforcement officers make an oath to protect the citizens and the city before joining the police department for the first time. No matter what the situation is the police officers will be there when people need help. However, gradually people are losing faith in police officers after many incidents where police officers had to attend the court for committing crimes. one of the officer was Darren Wilson, who did shot and killed Michael Brown. Luckily he was found innocent because he was defending himself. Despite the fact that Judge found him innocent, many people still believe that he is guilty and should be punished. Stating anything about Michael Brown or African American people in the article had to be done very carefully. Wilson wasn’t careful when he talked about African American community. For instance, when he said black community had highest crime rate and when he said they get the most tickets. He also criticizes black children 's upbringing, when he said black kids doesn’t even know how to respect their own mother. He stated that “They ran all over the mom. They didn’t even respect her, so why would they respect me?” He added, “They’re so wrapped up in a different culture than--- what I’m trying to say is, the right culture, the better one to pick from.” He is blaming black mothers of not teaching their children manners and how to behave around people. He can 't judge black mothers base off of how a blind mother raised her children. When black mothers read this article, their perception of Wilson will be worst than before because he questioned their ability of how to raise their children. when he stated “the right culture, the better one to pick from”, that means he believe other cultures are better than black culture. it also shows how hard he tried not to say anything offensive toward black culture, but he still did by pausing and changing his …show more content…
People can’t trust him or believe him if he keeps changing his story. First he said he love to work at a black community, but then later he said he is scared of black people. if he is scared of black people then there is no way they will ever respect him nor trust him. when he said “I’d never been in an area where there was that much poverty,” Wilson said. Interacting with residents, he felt intimidated and unprepared.” When he said the area had too much poverty, that doesn’t show why he should feel intimidated. There is nothing to be scared of a place where people have less resources, jobs and education. He also stated that he felt unprepared, this shows that he is not properly trained police officer. It shouldn’t be hard to handle black people especially where there is a lot of poverty because he said he liked to work in a black community. if he truly wanted to work in black community then he should have known how to handle
