Thousands of people sit at their homes everyday sitting and watching hundreds of commercials that spark up people 's interest in their product that may in fact lead to the purchase of their product for a company to profit from ,but how do these companies convince people to buy their product? Apple Inc., responsible for a major key to the world’s technology today, created a commercial that featured the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street baking cookies while using the new Apple iPhone’s hands-free Siri feature to set a timer for the cookies, to ask how long the timer had been running, and to eventually get mad at Siri when the he figures out the cookies had only been in the oven for one minute. Apple is selling this new iPhone’s Siri feature by establishing a credible and well known character,the Cookie Monster, using the Cookie Monster lovable and cute messiness and cookie baking to create an emotional appeal to the many people who recognize him ,whether young or old, and finally delivering their final message which “buy our phone”.

Apple first established credibility by introducing the well respected Cookie Monster which people from all ages from all around the world love and recognize then going on to show the Cookie Monster baking cookies and using the new features they installed on the iPhone they are trying to sell. Apple knew what they were doing by adding the Cookie Monster into their commercial as he appeals and stirs the emotions from people of all ages causing them to at least pay attention to the commercial.
