According to an organization called After Abortion, “California medicaid patients revealed that women who had abortions were 160 percent more likely than delivering women to be hospitalized for psychiatric treatment in the first 90 days following abortion or delivery.” Failing to educate women who undergo this procedure could possibly create greater problems that would result in other economic complications. Another creative strategy would be to mandate a new class to the current curriculum in schools across the country that would educate students about birth control and sex. Doing so would allow students from sixth grade to high school to gain consciousness in methods of contraception, and understanding the results of an unexpected pregnancy.
