Modern pollution is nothing like it was in past years. Pollution itself is a more recent historical problem that has been brought to many people’s attention. Many laws have been placed by governments around the world such as the Kyoto protocol and Cap-and-Trade. These acts have been placed so scientists can measure just how much each country is affecting the world and how imminent the threat is to life on Earth. People all over the world have now realized the problems facing the world as of late, but there are still many others that believe there is no risk, so laws are disbanded because it is viewed as a waste of time and money. This controversy between people are a state of mind but most people who believe it is all a hoax haven’t felt the effects so they feel there is no proof when in reality changes have affected the Earth in some way. Federal and state law have a dispute as to who controls what in the US. State governments believe that the national government can’t control them or industries/companies, it’s all part of their choice as an American citizen or company (Wong 1) (Mufson 1) (Clean Power Plan:...-Today’s Science). The combustion of coal causes plenty of carbon dioxide to be produced, and on a large-scale is dangerous to the atmosphere.
