The Controversy Of Meditation In Academia

I have considered it and I actually do meditate on occasion. One strategy I've made out of respect to less materialistic philosophies is to simply deny yourself something like watching a movie or listening to the radio. Humble yourself and draw a modest line about the things you need and the things you want and take pride in sacrificing your desires every now and then just to meditate. Do it as a statement. Know that there is a greatness in simply being alive and breathing. Get lost in the phenomenon. I'm actually very happy that the topic of meditation has come into academia, especially at a time where the big questions are approached with a strict numerical attitude. It would be hypocritical to look at the statistical benefits and not promote
