“You are pretty f*****g awesome. Keep that s**t up.” This line has been censored, because it contained several inappropriate words. This kind of censorship is considered completely fine, but does it get it’s point across anymore? Even with replacements for those words, it’s meaning is lost due to the lack of strength and feeling that’s being put into it, but I’m not saying that swearing is absolutely necessary to put passion into a message, but it does help do that every now and then. While some people claim that books can corrupt children, I would say that that argument is ridiculous. First, let’s talk about the popular book franchise known as Harry Potter, which was banned in several places in The United States and The United Kingdom according to Infoplease.com. The main reasoning behind this was due to these three main reasons, it promotes witchcraft, sets bad examples, and are too dark. Yet most of the characters, like Harry himself, or Ron, or Hermione are kind and are actually good role models, and while yes wizardry is practiced in the book, it is not encouraged that the readers should try it themselves. Next, we have the banning of William Shakespeare, he was banned-not for the reason you’d think though-but because that his works are old books, and the government wants us to focus on buying the new and improved stuff according to sparknotes.com. Finally, let’s talk about a case in which bibles were banned from schools in Florida. According to cnsnews.com everal atheists pressured several schools in Florida to ban the bible from school grounds, which the schools did. So, several people wanted to keep students from a religion in which they did not believe it, possibly on the idea that someone was possibly forcing their religion on the students and/or teachers, which is very unlikely. The more likely reason behind it was that they did not believe in this religion or any religion whatsoever.
