Humans have a way of thinking that puts them above other living things. This way of thinking is how humans can freely express thoughts and how it is used to explore or solve different ideas. Freely expressing thoughts can lead to many important outcomes and discoveries. In Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Throughout history there have been many debates about whether or not evolution and the Bible should be taught in public schools. In fact, there was once a court case, the Scopes Trial, in which many issues had arisen and were resolved about this controversy. One of the main issues discussed was a debate on evolutionism being taught in school. Clarence Darrow, an atheist lawyer, asked William Jennings Bryan, a devout and vocal politician and a Christian, a series of questions in regards to what Bryan believed to be true about the Bible. Darrow later then explained that science had said otherwise about certain issues which even today are still referred back to .…

The Scopes trial, often called the Monkey Trial, was, and still is one of the most controversial trials in our country's history. The trial addressed evolution which, under The Butler Act, was illegal to teach. A Tennessee teacher taught a high school class evolution from a chapter in a previously state-approved textbook, after being approached by an organization. The Scopes trial was definitely more than just a debate between evolution and creationism, and though it would be hard, you could believe in both.…

This being is far more intelligent than human being, and was needed to produce the most intricate and complex designs to form life. Each are very similar in explaining an individual being acted alone in the development of life on earth. Both theories of ID and creationism deny all scientific data supporting natural selection as the foundation of evolution. Biblical Creation as a Worldview Should Biblical Creationism be presented parallel with evolution as a valid explanation of the origin of the universe? The secular system is accepting evolution as fact, when evolution is really a worldview in which one sees the facts. The argument can then be made that if one must exert faith to believe evolution, then Biblical Creationism should not be disqualified as an equal explanation. National evangelist and former atheist Kirk Cameron (2004) writes, “Evolution is a religion that is believed by men and women… I was one of them until I was willing to investigate the facts” (p. 418).…

Evolution, by definition, is a theory that describes a change in one or more heritable characteristics of a population from generation to generation (Oxford Dictionaries). As a theory, evolution is not a proven fact. Instead evolution is simply a theory that has been supported by a large amount of evidence. While evolution has not been proven correct, many people still believe in this theory—or so we thought. Several people still do not believe and even fear the theory of evolution, this should not be the case.…

Creationism, Intelligent Design, and Evolution, three words that seem to be thrown around a good bit, but which of them is “right”? Well, if you define “right” as being the most factual, then Evolution is, by far, the most :right” of these ideas. There is a mountain of evidence for Evolutionary Theory, such as genetic similarities between different species, following change over time in the fossil record, and even seeing Evolution in action. It is because of this evidence that many individuals are of the opinion that the Theory of Evolution is what should be taught in schools.…

Creation vs. Evolution Is it more reasonable to believe that life came about all of a sudden by chance in a series of undirected events, or that God created life? Some believe that all life descended from a common ancestor, such as inanimate chemicals that slowly evolved into more complex life forms this is known as evolution. Yet some believe that God programmed to develop in such a way that chemicals evolved to produce mankind. But what does evidence reveal about these non-living chemicals? Scientific research shows that life absolutely cannot occur from non-living matter and that if the creation of complex molecules such as RNA, DNA, or a protein required the skill of a scientist, could the much more complex molecules within a cell arisen on accident?…

“It is no the strongest of species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” This quote was once said by the father of evolution himself, Charles Darwin who spent his life’s work on learning all he can about evolution. In the world we live in all organisms change, and were not the same thousands of years ago as they are today. There are two main theories to this process; scientific theory and religious theory.…
