When our country first started the position of presidency had no stabilized rules, so as a result we had presidents such as former President Franklin Roosevelt who served 4 terms repeatedly, and as a result to that we had the Twenty-Second Amendment established to limit the power of our leaders. Back then, our country believed in the moralistic system where owning a slave and forcefully making them work was perfectly fine, because they did not see other races or colors to be equal. Over time many inspirational men and women such as Frederick Douglas or Maya Angelou stood up for not only the rights for the people but for the rights that every human being should not be deprived from. Today in America we still have the trouble of racism towards African-Americans; where it has gotten to a point of how innocent people are being killed for doing nothing by peace officers who are suppose to protect us not harm us. In Tulsa, Oklahoma a black man was shot dead by peace officers while his hands were up and he posed no threat of any kind, but he was still shot down. Are these peace officers really bringing peace when they hold such a grudge against a race? A black man in August who was sitting on his front porch waiting for his father to come home and open the front door, was tasered and beaten for no reason, even clearly in the video you can see how he is respecting the authorities who taught he was breaking in, and having a friendly conversation with them. We have passed so much in developing as a purer society without racism and surpassing the inequality we have had in our past, but still today we have issues like this. That is why we keep moving forward and exercising our First Amendment till our voices are not only heard but give action to a
