The Constitution is a document which contains different limitations on the government that protect the fundamental rights of United States citizens. The Constitution contains 27 amendments of which the first ten are called the Bill of Rights. There are seven articles in the Constitution. The articles talk about the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. The Constitution splits the power of the government between 3 branches and puts “checks and balances” in place.
