Society today is in an epidemic of texting and drinking alcohol while driving. This on-going issue not only risks others’ lives, yet along with their own. Both situations have their consequences, in which law enforcement will not tolerate. Although drinking and driving, and texting while driving are both very dangerous on the road, they have separate distractions and effects on the driver. For example texting while driving can be stopped by simply putting the phone conversation on hold, driving while drinking will have a long term effect the entire time they are behind the wheel.
