Two cites in America you may have heard of are Ferguson, MO and of course New York City, NY. Ferguson police were recently investigated by the U.S. Government and the results were shocking. African Americans are a large target for police in Ferguson as they are the largest ethnic group convicted of petty crimes (U. S. Department of Justice...). The report finds that the Ferguson police department racially discriminates against the black population for a majority of its arrests and citations. If you’re pulled over in Ferguson and happen to be black, you’re 2.07 times more likely to be searched for contraband (U. S. Department of Justice...). Hopefully, you don’t have anything illegal in your car because the Ferguson Municipal court is prone to not dismiss cases for African-Americans (U. S. Department of Justice...).
