The Consequences Of Paying College Athletes Get Paid

Here it is again. People complaining about college athletes getting fined and into various types of trouble for the worst reasons. College athletes put their bodies on the line every single time they walk onto the field or onto the court. They make college programs great and have their names and faces put on merchandise and posters. College athletes should without a doubt get paid and compensated for every game that they play in. Pass the bill and allow the athletes to be paid. Many people will argue that paying college athletes will ruin college organizations and that athletes will choose a school due to the highest bidder instead of the actual program “Paying student athletes erodes that association. If a high-school football prodigy reported that he chose Michigan not for its academic quality, tradition, or beautiful campus but because it outbid all other suitors, a connection to the university’s values would be lost.”(Yankah) That’s all blown out of proportion. College athletes are required to keep their grades up just like every other single student and for them it’s even worse. The people who oppose this say that one of the thrills of playing without compensation is that when all of these fields start opening up for them it’s breathtaking and that they can say that they worked hard and deserve everything that they are getting. This may be true, but if college athletes are paid for what they are doing in college then they will see these doors open faster for them and they will work harder to succeed because they have seen what it can do for them down the long road and then they will also be able to pay for themselves going through college and to show that they are able
