The reason I believe this to be so is that I believe that God created us humans in His image, and that He not only values every life, but He loves each one of us. Even if someone does not believe in God or is familiar with what He says in His Word, the Bible, invariably, everyone is familiar with the Golden Rule that says: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” This “rule” encapsulates and reinforces that we should treat others as we ourselves wish to be treated. Based on this simple rule, can we not all agree that we would not wish to be held captive against our wills, forced to do unimaginable, hideous things for others’ profit, and worse yet be subjected to the horror of possibly being injured and even killed to have our organs removed to benefit others or give others life, while in return being deprived of one’s quality of life, or even life itself, without having any say in the matter, simply because someone else in every sense has ownership of one’s life and uses and disposes as they fit for …show more content…
Other ways we can help to end slavery is to not purchase items that have been made by using child labor, but instead, support those companies that are fighting against it by making products that are slave-free and even employ survivors of trafficking, such as Thistle Farms Bath &Body products; GoodWeave Rugs, Brilliant Earth Diamond Company, and Oliberté Shoe Company, just to name a few. We can become supporters by simply looking at labels of products we purchase to ensure they are not products of child labor. I agree that this is a cause worth getting involved in and supporting, because we can all be affected whether directly or indirectly, as our communities are only as strong and healthy as its weakest
