He has been quoted claiming only mass shootings happen in America, disregarding the Paris attacks that have occurred over the last year. He even went sofar as to lie saying that Australia has seen less crime since they banned guns, while the crime rates have gone up dramatically (Lott). And in the aftermath of the Sandy Hooks shooting he gave money to the CDC to research gun violence hoping to find new evidence that would make passing gun control measures easier (Wintersteen). The president went against all sense of morals and tried to politicize the issue to advance his personal antigun agenda. The ironic part is that when the research was completed, the evidence backed what the FBI has been saying about guns for years. The CDC found out that an armed citizen is less likely to be injured by an attacker than someone who is unarmed (Wintersteen). This not only proves most anti-gun advocates wrong, but also brings new evidence on the argument that the more guns citizens have the less crime occurs. As a continuation they found that guns are used for defensive purposes just as much if not more than they are used by criminals (Wintersteen). Most guns that are used in crimes have been attained illegally (Wintersteen). This gives the “gun show loophole” and the background check argument little to no evidence. He was the “average” mass murderer, anti-social, weird, and full of hate. As typical anti-gun news personalities the media threw the word AR15 all over every article and story about the shooting (Pavlich). CNN had an article called “AR15 Back in the News”, just trying to jump on the anti-sporting rifle bandwagon (Pavlich). And if all was well and perfect in liberal world, the man would’ve had an AR15 and would’ve killed dozens of people, giving big stories for the media and more ground to take our guns for the greedy politicians. When reality sets in and the police actually do an investigation into the shooting, the results are very different from what was initially claimed. The man, Aaron Alexis, did not only not have an AR15, the gun he did use was a pump action shotgun, legal in all fifty states (Pavlich). The response of the media was the change the story to say the shooter had an “AR15 assault rifle shotgun” something that is clearly made up to scare the population (Pavlich). The shooting was a clear example of the media and antigun politicians using the deaths of people to further their own agenda (Pavlich). The politicians use this to help their cause
