First, Friar Lawrence’s actions and decisions led to Romeo’s and Juliet’s deaths. Even though he did not purposely do this, he was just trying to bring peace to the families. Friar Lawrence made up the plan for Juliet to drink the potion and was supposed to give Romeo the letter on time. Without Romeo receiving the letter on time he did not know about Friar Lawrence’s plan. The letter was mandatory for Romeo to receive for the plan to succeed, but Friar John maybe did not know the letter was such a big deal. As Friar Lawrence says with fear: Unhappy fortune! The letter was not nice but full of charge,
Of dear import, and the neglecting it

In addition, another reason why Friar Lawrence impacted the death of Romeo and Juliet is that near the end of the play, he left her in a tomb full of dead people who she loved. Friar Lawrence knew that Juliet was already suicidal and leaving her by herself around her dead fiancée and cousin was not a good idea. If Friar Lawrence had stayed with Juliet in the tomb and helped her get back to her family, she would still be alive. As a result, Friar Lawrence’s actions had an impact on Romeo and Juliet’s
