Social networking or social media are a great way to keep in touch with friends or family or just away to keep up with the social life of everyone around you. As we all know there are consequences to everything that seems good in the life we live in today, such as cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is one of the worst things we live with today not only for teens but young adults. It is a very stressful and dangerous way to deal with things and can have some very gruesome consequences manly with teen’s such as depression and even suicidal thoughts, as I will explain to you how it is harmful and how we can try to prevent it. We can prevent it by screening for bullies and personality’s, get their parents involved, having it in your community like …show more content…
For example ignore any insulting emails, instant messages or other postings from cyber bullies. Approximately 81 percent of cyber bullies harass people because they think the reactions are funny. The definition for cyber bullying is use of the Internet and related technologies to harm other people, in a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner. As it has become more common in society, particularly among young people, legislation and awareness campaigns have arisen to combat it. Three causes of cyber bullying is family environment if it’s a bad environment the parents can possibly be hitting their kids or not taking care of them so they might get picked at home and if their parents aren’t buying them clothes children at school will bully them. Another thing that the family environment they might not even know that their children are getting bullied usually children doesn’t tell their parents they keep it a secret so the bully doesn’t get in trouble. Another one is drug and alcohol use if the children are using it usually they can be mean or if their parents are using it they don’t help their children out and sometimes they don’t even care. The last cause is race sometimes people pick on people for their color and that’s not right everyone should be treated the same way and picking on others for that is wrong. Sometimes the bully gets there friends involved and think it’s funny and sometimes they have no background from their parents they think it’s ok for them to just pick on others. I think that cyber bullying should be stopped if anyone sees it I think that they should report the person so that they won’t do it anymore and I

    This is a growing issue that can effect anyone who puts themselves out into social media and can happen in a number of ways and can end with devastating consequences. Whether it’s an embarrassing or inappropriate picture that is spread around, a nasty rumor, mean texts and messages or even a received threat bullying online is hurtful and very public. Cyber- bullying can however get even more serious with almost all of a person’s personal information out and accessible to almost anyone whether it’s on a private account or not.
