Technology hinders the society because it causes health problems. In the article “Obesity in Children and Technology” ELLE PAULA the author said, “An increase in exposure to technology goes hand in hand with a decrease in physical activity. As children spend more time sitting in front of the TV or computer, they spend less time outside running around and burning off calories -- and energy. Over time, combined with an increase in snacking, this can lead to significant weight gain.” This evidence tells us that there are many children spending so much time on technology that they end up wasting their whole day, and the meal that he/she ate has calories and them sitting and waiting makes the calories turn into fat which then causes a child to become obese. Another source that supports that technology causes health problems is the article “Digital Technology” and the author said, “Technology can have a large impact on users' mental and physical health. Being overly connected can cause psychological issues such as distraction, narcissism, expectation of instant gratification, and even depression. Beside affecting users' mental health, use of technology can also have negative repercussions on physical health causing vision problems, hearing loss, and neck strain. Fortunately, there are steps that can be taken to help alleviate these health issues.” This supports the reason that technology is causing health problems because in the quote it says that It can cause physical as well as emotional pain. There are many other forms on what technology has done to humans, but health problem is one of the many
