Why We Lie Research Paper

Can you remember the last time you lied to someone? How did it make you feel, when they actually believed you? The truth doesn’t cost anything, but a lie could cost you everything. A lie is misleading someone telling them inaccurate or false statements trying to get them to believe you. There are so many different reasons for someone to lie. Self esteem is a big one, we all have confidence and most of us always think we are right and don’t want to lose that pride and dignity, we lie to cover up mistakes so we don’t lose our respect. We lie to avoid hurting others feelings. We lie because we are scared. There are many consequences you have to being a liar. No one will be able to trust you. It has a great affect on you physical health, brain, and emotional feelings. If you get so used to lying it will become an every day thing to you and then you will be a pathological liar. Whats the point though, every lie you tell you will need to have to remember it. Your just making things harder for yourself. Liars have to manage double lives if its brought back up in the future you will have to remember the truth and the lie and figure out how you told the story and probably forget. Telling the truth will give you self confidence and pride. Your stress levels will drop and you’ll start looking and feeling better about yourself. Lying is like ripping off a old bandage, you'll experience the pain for a short period of time and then things will heal and feel a lot better.
