Money, although they say that it isn’t everything, money actually is a huge part of daily life. Every family, business, and organizations depends on money to survive and grow. No matter the place you go or things you do you are a variable of the functionalist or conflict theory of sociology. Each class is exploiting the other for goods and services and you can clearly see this in the information given below. In table one; the graph gives information for the healthcare received in households of several different incomes. By the information given it is clear that the less income a person makes the better chance they have of not inquiring health care coverage. Conflict theory is often associated with Karl Marx; he believed there are two groups in the world. The first group being the bourgeoisie, the bourgeoisie is known as the rich or the privileged group, and the second group is known as the proletariat or the poor or underprivileged group. Karl Marx believed that the bourgeoisie had total control of the proletariat in every aspect of life because society is structured by the economy. In table 2, the highest percentage on the chart was the people who could not afford to have health care coverage while the people with the lowest stated they were to healthy and did not need the coverage. Again the poor are exploited by the rich and the bourgeoisie is so extremely healthy they do not think they need coverage. In table 3, it is clear that the bourgeoisie has control over the proletariat. Most of the poor is only of fair health, this is because they cannot afford the food needed to stay healthy, they do not have access to the same resources that the rich have access to, and they do not have the time to dedicate to being healthy.
