To build muscle, one must understand the components required to maximize the body 's muscle building process. Aside from sheer hard work and dedication, there are four main components. Nutrition, hydration, training, and protein synthesis which is the biological process does the muscle building. Each component is an absolute requirement for this topic, and will be analyzed independently, to show how collectively, they work together to create optimal conditions for muscle growth.

But did you know it actually takes three days to properly hydrate your body? Three whole days. It should go without being said how crucial water is to the body. Water plays a part in maintaining the body 's homeostasis and pretty much all other bodily functions. Water enables the muscles to handle more stress and recover faster by preventing lactic acid build up. Water is a big factor in the muscle’s ability to generate power and it 's been shown that when you are dehydrated it increases muscle breakdown during a workout with less new muscle growth. Because water is so fundamental it gets used all over the body for all types of things. We need to make sure after the rest of the body has the water it needs, and then the muscles have the water they need as well. Because we sweat when under physical stress we need to constantly resupply the body with water. It’s incredible all the processes that occur while you 're catching some Zs. One of those processes is muscle recovery. The majority of the muscle building process happens while we are asleep. That 's the time our bodies release hormones and proteins synthesis takes place. That 's why it is so crucial to get 8 hours of sleep a night. The body needs that time to recover and repair the muscle tissues. That is also why it 's important to not overtrain your body. Studies have shown Any more than an hour in the gym and it 's been shown the muscle won 't recover as well. So there is a goldilocks zone. Not too much, not too little. That 's also why training should be no more than 5 days a week to allow the body to fully recover and help prevent
