The complexity of the stock market is indescribable. There are numerous strategies used by individuals in order to turn that complexity into money. Of course, there is a much more important factor in the stock market: the companies. If it were not for every company that gives individuals opportunity to become a stockholder, there would clearly be no stock market. These companies are what draw investors into the stock market with the chance of profiting from said company. When purchasing a stock or share of a company, one is part owner and will receive annual dividends which depend on the type of stock they acquired and if there is any profit. By 1900, the company was mass producing chocolate bars in a way that was affordable to all, instead of being an item of luxury for those of wealth. Due to the rapid success of the affordable confection, Hershey decided to further expand production and soon saw a new factory producing chocolate in mid-1905. In 1907, looking for even further production line expansion, Hershey created the Hershey’s KISS, which were trademarked in 1924. Hershey introduced other items such as the Mr. Goodbar, Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, Hershey’s Chocolate Chips, and the Krackel bar, which kept the company alive during the Great Depression and helped workers keep jobs. In 1956, after Harry Reese’s death, the H.B. Reese Candy Company was bought and integrated into The Hershey Company. The H.B. Reese Candy Company was the first in a long line of candy companies that sold out to Hershey, which renamed to Hershey Foods Corporation in 1968. Those companies include San Giorgio Macaroni and Delmonico Foods, manufacturing rights to Rowntree MacKintosh’s products, Y&S Candies, Twizzlers, Dietrich Corporation, Peter Paul/Cadbury’s, and finally, in 1990, Ronzoni Foods. Presently, The Hershey Company is the lead manufacturer of confectionery products in North America, continuously creates new products, employs around 14,000 individuals, and has net sales in the billions (The Hershey Company,
