From "The Complete Persepolis “by Marjane Satrapi". “After four years living in Vienna, here I Am back in TEHRAN, From the moment I arrived at the Mehrabad airport and caught sight of the first customs agent, I immediately felt the repressive air of my country” The quotes puzzle me in a way that I felt so bad about the Iranian women oppressed. Marjane was not happy that she returns to her country, because of the humiliation of wearing the veil. The first custom she was relating a was a male, based on the picture from the novel . She does not want to belong to her country anymore. It was very challenging and depressive to her. “Suddenly, from the other side of the street, I saw a car full of guardians of the revolution arrive, followed by a bus. When they came with the bus, it meant a raid. "If they see me with this lipstick, they'll take me away." The Iranian women do not require to wear makeup. If anyone wearing a makeup, the person should be punished. However, Marjane was so afraid that they may see her and punish her. Before I tread this chapter I thought that the law only required women to wear a veil. My question here is that how do they maltreat women in this way. I felt so bad for the Iranian women, because there is no human right and freedom for them. “Since we weren't married, we couldn't kiss each other in public, or even give one another a friendly hug to express our extreme joy.
