As a teenager, we were told on various occasions what not to do and why we shouldn’t do it. We were not given advice on what to do if we found ourselves in those unfavorable situations. When tuning in for evening news, we see countless outbreaks of communities, foreign and non-foreign, experiencing a drop in their population. A change must be made and with more academic preparation, I can become that change. As an undergraduate with a public health minor, I will be taught the necessary tools to better assess the health of various communities, identify growing health problems localized in those communities, and create public health policies to help alleviate the issues. A minor in public health will give me the opportunity to become a resource to others, rebuild my community and several other global communities, and give rise to change in the field of
