Pros And Cons Of Community Coalition Task Force

The community coalition task force considers using the middle and lower class to improve the community’s health. This proposal depends on largely on the community coming together and being able unite and stay united and often that is an almost impossible task, especially when dealing with residents who work day and night, look after children or just simply do not have the ambition or concern to better their community. In addition to the above, this group would be biased especially towards those who have substantial economic and political clout. The pros of this proposal is that it implements its own community which allows for better insight into problems within the community becomes you have a group of direct sources, people who experience these problems everyday of their lives. This proposal also discusses “promote sustainable development built upon Marshallese assets” (pg, 1), which could upset many because they could be very traditional and resist change of any sort even if it is for the better. However, developing local food sources and limiting foreign fishing operations would be a wonderful idea. It would allow for more jobs within the community and they could even begin to export fish as a way to profit from this endeavor.

So I would use the public health worker task force as the backbone for my proposal because it has so many pros and tackles the biggest issue necessary for survival, health. I would remove the “train civic leaders” option because that should be implemented into the health education programs that they are trying to improve. I would implement the community coalition task force by allowing the community to volunteer or even work as the increased number of primary care clinics and allow them to teach others thought word of mouth.
