Three types of bullying are, verbal, social and physical. Verbal bullying takes place in the form of teasing, verbal threats and name-calling. Social bullying is spreading rumors or leaving someone out and Physical bullying is the act of hitting, pushing or stealing someone else’s belongings. Positive relationships with students and a challenging classroom environment with clear expectations that are laid out helps set up a class for success. “ A study was conducted with participants from mid-elementary school through early adolescence by Flaspohler, Elfstrom, Vanderzee, Sink, and Birchmeier (2009), who found that pupils who indicated low levels of support by teachers and peers reported that they were more frequently the victims of bullies. These pupils also reported low levels of satisfaction with life in general. Another study by RasKauskas, Gregory, Harvey, Rifshana, and Evans (2010) found that bullies and bully/victims had the lowest connection to school and the poorest relationships with their teachers”.
There are some things we can do to help prevent bullying. Having things such as uniforms in schools for children, enforcement of bullying policies, education and tips for preventing and what to do if one witnesses bullying. When children wear uniforms in school there is no need to keep up with the latest and greatest trends as everyone is the same. Bullying needs to come with consequences to fit the
