The colomber is a rough journey for a boy who was coursed from the sea the day that he got on it. His life passion was to be a sailor and follow in the footsteps of his dad. Unfortunately he saw the colober. The stigma attached to the colober was that it was evil and would devour you whole. This story did a great job showing that your actions can have an unexpected end result. This theme portrays the philosopher Hobbes by showing that “humans strive for pleasure no matter what roadblocks stand in your way.” In the book “the colomber” the boy is told never to go into the sea again or he will be devoured. He strived for pleasure and assumed his life mission to be a sailer. He was always followed by the colomber but never felt the fear that everyone
