The Colllegial Leadership Team

Decent Essays
I am the newly appointed principal at Atlantic Coastal Elementary School. The collegial leadership team and I are tasked with filling a teacher vacancy position. We have screened, interviewed, and selected five teacher candidates. The two vice principals have recommended Mr. Stewart to fill the teaching vacancy. I have disagreed and recommended Ms. Simpson. My two assistant principals are key components of the collegial team; however they are only two members out of a group of five to nine people who conducted interviews. My team would also include the department level chair, two members of that grade level, a member of a separate grade, and a parent. I would remind the interview team that our purpose is to find the best qualified applicant

My first semester at Georgia Southern has been an eventful time. I have had the honor of learning leadership roles and applying them to the community. Three qualities a leader should obtain are opening ears, dedication, and diligent work labor. With these three qualities, I have learned you can succeed in anything you put your mind too whether it's positive communication with your group, developing Scare on the Square, or giving back to Nature Activities. McMurphy is a patient in an asylum crusading against the tyranny of the head nurse, Nurse Ratched. Both McMurphy and Nurse Ratched use their resources and attributes to the fullest, yet only one of these leaders can persuade the patients to take the position of the respective side. Leadership on the line by Ronald A. Heifetz and Marty Linksys is a very timely book. Maggie’s description of her Indian community and the effects of alcohol made me think of many urban communities and the pain that lurks in those communities. The stories she shares about Lois and the heart she had for her community and desire to make it better make you think we need more leaders like that. Lois leadership inspired me because she saw something wrong in her community she believed she could bring change. Lois is a good picture of servanthood she doesn’t sit and think someone should so something…

School law has become a very important part of our school districts over the past few decades. These laws are put into place to protect the students, faculty, staff, and parents involved in the everyday operations of our schools. For example, Brown v. Selection of any school personnel is a great responsibility, especially one at the district office level. This process will involve many different stakeholders and will be conducted with the goal of finding an individual who meets the current needs of the district. One unfavorable factor will be the lack of time provided to find the best possible candidate, and it will be a challenge to the selection committee to not rush the process or select an unsuitable candidate simply to fill the position. Therefore, all timelines provided will be dependent on finding a candidate that meets the needs of the district. If a suitable candidate is not found within the timeframe provided, the district has an option of hiring someone temporarily, restarting the process, or postponing the search,…
