As any recent graduate coming out of high school, the college transition is the day many anticipate for even though there are mixed emotions behind the process. Having experience with time management and organization at my high school will be useful while transitioning into college. Likewise, having been put into situations where I know no one will help me to meet new people at college. The feeling that I am not alone as there are thousands of others going through the same situation eases the nerves as it will become a group effort to pass the obstacles. Currently, with a rigorous academic schedule, I have developed several time management and organization skills. Being involved in numerous clubs offered at my high school along with participating in sports and having a challenging academic schedule requires time management preparation. I have to organize my time accordingly in order to get everything that needs to be done for the day. In order to not waste time, I organize everything in a planner, which keeps a track of all my assignments. Even coming home from practice or on the weekends, I need to maintain a steady pace to finish required …show more content…
Classes will change from a high school setting to having class for a longer period of time but few classes throughout the day. There will be time in between, where time management will be the key. With the classes and clubs I plan to participate in, I will need to organize my time accordingly. At college, I plan to organize my time well by spacing assignments out over a longer period of time. Everyone is guilty of cramming assignments in one night; however, I would like to stay far away from this from preparing ahead of time. According to my future academic and extracurricular schedule, planning ahead of time will become a necessity. With my skills from high school, I hope to develop those skills while transitioning into college and succeeding

My experiences in SCI 195A this semester taught by Ingrid Peterson and Dina Schwartz have been nothing less than extraordinary. Although college is full of opportunity, it entails legions of work! College certainly includes more responsibility such as time management, test taking strategy, and planning for the future. This quarter my goal is to be able to revise an essay efficiently and effectively while following a concrete plan that provides the materials to compose an essay to the best of my abilities. To complete this goal, I have devised a plan based upon recommended steps to improve the process of one's writing in Hjortshoj’s The Transition of College Writing. He explains that writers often undergo ‘’phases of planning, revising, and editing ‘’that ‘’ are therefore interwoven with composing a draft’’ (Hjortshoj 61) unlike the strict linear pattern one might learn and use in high school. To avoid advocating this linear pattern and improve how I revise my writing, I have composed a schedule of how I should complete a writing assignment or essay.…

While college is a vital part of my future plans of earning a bachelor’s degree in both finance and risk management, it is also extremely expensive! God has blessed me with amazing parents. My Dad is self-employed and a 33 year member of the Arkansas National Guard while my Mom is a special education teacher. They have always planned to help with the financial burden of college as long as I earn good grades, maintain any scholarships that I may receive and keep a part time job, but I need scholarships to assist with their effort. My family may be “rich” in love, but not especially rich in “finances”.…
