The Cold War was beginning to take a toll on the strength of the Union as a whole and began to stress the individual regions within the region. Within the months leading up to the fall of the Soviet Union, republics within the Union began to seceded on their own, or they began to denounce the Treaty on the Creation of the Soviet Union and began the process of leaving the Union. The Treaty created the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics or the USSR in 1922. The USSR was an axis party in the beginnings of its years and began to become an ally power around the time of WWII. The Soviet Union continued to be an ally power but tensions grew as post war talks of how to deal with the countries affected by the war pulled apart the “Big Three” which was Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, and Harry S. Truman. The Cold War began after these tensions grew to new heights and created a hostility towards the Soviet Union. An end goal that the United States and it’s allies wanted was for the fall of the Soviet Union, which they got in 1991 with the annulment of the 1922 Treaty. This created a victory for the ally powers, but it created an issue within the former states of the Union. When the Soviet Union fell it left many without stable governments and jobs.
