The purpose of the article is to inform individuals on the effectiveness of coaching to the unity of a sports team. The article entails on how coaches dissuades players as a team which causes players to become less motivated to perform effectively. The article shows how influencing a team is an important matter in team cohesion. Without coaches encouraging, nurturing, and committing to the well-being of athlete's there is no solidarity in a team which makes players become more demotivated players and not playing effectively.

It shows how players need to work together as a team even with the coach. Also, how the coach needs to work with the players as well if players do not they can end up in a situation like 2015 Super Bowl. For example, the Super Bowl 2015 the Seahawks made a bad play which cost them to losing the super bowl against the Patriots. The one bad call that was made cost the players to lose the biggest championship game of the year. The coach did not decide as a group the best decision for the team which resulted in bad team cohesion. The coach could have work with the players to decide what was best even though players get little input. Not only do small group sports settings need team cohesion especially for big group sport setting requires the team to work collectively. In both the NBA and NFL requires individuals specifically players to work together as a team in order to win a game.
I believe the article could have been better if the author could have expanded its results. By studying a sport with a big group of people which can show a different outcome of results. The flaws, I noticed in the article was comparing the text to other sports to better relate to what was being studied.
