Advantages And Disadvantages Of Christian Values

The Benedictine Values in an Educational Environment are centered around core values similar to those found in the Code of Ethics for Nursing and Scope and Standards of Practice. I believe the most relevant parts include seeking the common good for the community and having respect for all persons no matter what race or ethnicity they may be. This includes creating fair and just medical treatment for all would seek it. A second relevant value in common is to listen with the ear of your heart. This is especially necessary for a nursing career because it is our responsibility to be both a caregiver and someone the patient feels comfortable confiding in. Without that bond, the health consumer may not tell us the whole truth about their issues and lead us to give them the wrong kind of care. A last common value is the aspect of community living. Nurses are responsible for advocating healthy living at the individual level and the community level. By making sure every individual that comes in is happy and healthy, we can make the community a better place to live in. The Benedictine values will help us be good, genuine people and nurses. The benefits of going to an associate program is the fact that it doesn’t take very long to complete. You do not spend as much time and money in the classroom, but getting into the workforce. The downfall to those two-year programs is for those who wish to further their careers and move up in position. There are areas of nursing that require a BSN degree achieved in the four-year program, which means they would need to go back to school.
