Chipotles code of conduct tells staff members that if they disclose the companies confidential technical, financial and business trade secrets to outsiders it will result in a civil or criminal lawsuit. I agree because if that type of information is leak it can cause the factory to lost its assets to its competitors. When dealing with investigations by government agencies it must be reported to the general counsel. The company with have one representative to speak out for them if these matters arise. The whole company is one big team altogether and it needs the team leader to the voice of that unit. Employee Recourse gives the employees the right to report anything that has made them feel threatened and to tell the person who is showing unusual behavior towards him/her in the correct way. One cannot be expected to know something the first time they are exposed to it, you have to train and help them understand the codes of the company. Hold training sessions where you answer any questions that they may have (Moultry, 2015). Be clear and understanding that if they have problem one will not simply come forth and be honest, they will feel apprehensive at first it is you, as the employeer to make them feel like they can confide in you without feeing fear. Board members and senior executives have to set an example for the type conduct they expect from others. Reward them for showing good ethical behavior; for example, if you have an employee that goes above and beyond to put his/her personal interests aside to always do what is best for their clients, that is considered ethical behavior and he/she should be rewarded and held up as an example for others to strive to do the same. This will show others what you are looking for in a good employee and they will want to please you the same way. The more you reward employees for good ethical decisions, the more likely the other employees will follow suit.
