Both the tables and chairs are secure and sturdy enough to lean, yet they are able to slide under too much pressure. The lighting is distributed evenly without being too dim or too bright. There is not an area set aside in case a child becomes over-stimulated. Voices are heard throughout the classroom without echoes. The room is only noisy during center time and when a child is upset. It is easy to listen and focus on a child next to you unless a child was being distracting by throwing a fit. The décor of the room was not too barren or over-stimulating. The room is decorated with numerous educational posters, the alphabet, children’s work, and the different centers are labeled. The furniture around the room supports children’s independent …show more content…
Some of this area would benefit if it was strengthened and would benefit the students. In this classroom, the materials are not clearly organized, labeled nor does it provide both pictures and words. Some items, such as the different centers, are labeled, nevertheless, they cannot be seen from across the room. There are pictures on baskets that show where certain items go, but there are no written words with the pictures. Some materials in the classroom appear organized, while other materials are not and are just thrown on shelves. The centers provide a lot of props and materials that can be used by more than one student. The materials consist of dress up clothes, puppets for the puppet stage, paper, crayons, paint, string, glue, scissors, sand, shovel, bucket, sea shells, blocks, big trucks and cars, and books. These materials are interesting as well as realistic and non-realistic. Children use these materials to play by their selves, such as the boy playing with blocks, and with other classmates, like the two girls playing in the puppet area. The materials are changed depending on the theme that the teacher is using for her lesson plans. One visit the theme was jobs and occupations where the materials were of different jobs and occupations.
