Classes In George Orwell's Animal Farm

It is obvious lots of people want to eliminate classes but, there can never, and will never be a classless society. First, it is impossible to create classlessness because if everyone is equal then there is one class. Society has its problems, and classes have their problems, but it is human nature to put things in groups, by looks, apparent intelligence, and sexual orientation. So, naturally, humans, or animals, will always want equality, but by nature we will always label them and put them in groups. Classes aren't inherently bad, but, if someone abuses their status, classes can and will be a nightmare, and we can not fix this. Classes when people are expecting classes is a good thing, that way you know you can move up and down. But classes when people expect equality is bad, this will likely lead to a totalitarian rule. Usually the leaders in a totalitarian government are not good; they are harsh, ruthless, and selfish. These are not the qualities I see in a good leader. I think good leaders are personable, kind, trustworthy, selfless, and reliable. If …show more content…
First, they expected equality and a classless society, and that didn't happen. Instead it lead to the reason their government didn't work , and that is the pigs ruled with an iron fist and were very strict, and were intent on holding their power. If the pigs had allowed for a democracy, maybe it could have worked a little better. Lastly, it turned into a totalitarian rule, and at that point the pigs had almost turned into humans themselves, at least they were as bad as them. In conclusion, I believe it could have worked out, but as soon as snowball left they had no chance, as snowball had listened to the people and was more democratic leader. And again, classes when people are expecting classes is a good thing, that way you know you can move up and down. In the novel, Orwell used different animals to represent the different types of ignorance that was going on at that time. For example, Benjamin, the donkey, is a pessimist that believes that nothing good will happen no matter who is in charge at that time. His purpose is to represent the pessimistic intellectual who believes that he's above politics, refusing to involve himself in society or the government. His ignorance is pride. In the same way, Boxer and Clover represent the working class.…

Perception throughout Animalism Would you say that you do what you do, is based off of your view of the world? Or at least how others shape it? Your actions are always based off of what you think is happening or going on. In Gregory Mantsios’s “Class in America” he discusses the myths and realities of class differentiation. One thing he jumps into in the beginning of his essay is that Americans don’t prefer to talk about social class. Some people have even stated that they dislike using the word ‘class’ or ‘upper-class’ due to the reason that they believe it mows down their fortune and responsibility. Even though some Americans are concentrated on class identification Mantsios writes that most people aren’t aware of their actions to avoid this subject, this may be because of the fact that “…Class identity has been stripped from popular culture” (Mantsios, 282). It is now deemed ‘un-American’ to even compare certain issues with classes.…

Comrades, we are gathered here today to discuss the recent rule violations, specifically commandment 7 which states “all animals are created equal”. We have let things pass but when we allow someone to control whether or not we eat, sleep, or speak, we lose the one thing we’ve worked so hard to achieve, that is, freedom. We took part in the rebellion to gain independence. An animal would be free from humans and live in bliss.…

To begin with, Animal Farm is a haptic farm with animals that are against their owner because they believe that there's different classes among one another, the author manipulates the animals by language, and the purpose for this whole fight is to get what they want. People within the society create groups and classes among one another, and many Americans believe in a three-class model that includes the rich, the middle class, and the poor. These different classes are separated by the wealthy, well educated/ a little bit of money, and the poor that is uneducated. An example of this Is stated in Document 1, “All beat her for her backwardness, military backwardness, and for cultural backwardness.” This quote explains a girl that is beaten up…

Reality of Conformity and Nonconformity If there must be only one choice, which aspect would sound better? Being locked up in chains with your dearest people led by a “nice looking” villain to your death, or being chained by yourself to your death? Neither of the options sounds pleasing, therefore there is no correct way to our social community lifestyle. There are two characters that fit into these opposing aspects, conformity, and nonconformity. Characters with conformity deal with a hanging doubt that bothers them frequently, like Boxer from George Orwell’s fable, “Animal Farm”, who is an over-hard-working horse that only listens to Napoleon, their master.…

The independent reading book I choose to read this summer was “Animal Farm” by George Orwell. The story is about a farm where the animals are sick of doing labor for humans, so they rebel and kick the farmers off Manor Farm, a farm in England. The animals then instal a government based on animalism. Animalism has 7 rules whoever goes on two legs is an enemy, whoever goes open four legs, or has wings, is a friend, no animal should wear clothes, no animal should sleep in a bed, no animal should drink alcohol, no animal should kill any other animal, and all animals are equal. For a time things go well for a while until a pig by the name of Napoleon takes control by scaring away his opponent.…

Importance of Education Essay: “All animals are equal but some are more equal than others” the previous quote found in George Orwell’s acclaimed novel Animal Farm; that criticized the Soviet government in Russia showcases the importance of manipulating and limiting education in order to achieve full power and control over others. The novel contains characters that are symbolic of the communist leaders and were able to manipulate the other animals by limiting the quality of education which then led to the animals becoming ignorant and closed minded. Napoleon (who was symbolic of Joseph Stalin) the dictator, found out the animals’ weakness and used it against them throughout the novel while only educating specific animals. To begin with,…

“Animal Farm” by George Orwell is a book that displays how communism is a deficient option for a government, even on a tiny basis such as an animal farm. The way George Orwell displays how communism is a deficient option is writing about a farm, Manor Farm, ran by an abusive and neglectful man named Jones. The animals decide to take over with dreams of communism and equality for all animals. Once they overcome the farm (Renamed Animal Farm) the pigs decide to run the farm on communism, the fear of becoming like humans, and fear of humans and human ways. Soon do they find out that communism does not create a utopia and problems evolve concerning equality of animals.…

What matters today, the issue which blocks the horizon, is the need for a redistribution of wealth. Humanity will have to address this question, no matter how devastating the consequences may be. ”(Fanon, 53) According to Marx the solution to the capitalist societies that we inhabit is Socialism, by transforming into socialist societies, where wealth is redistributed and equivalently shared throughout we will be able to solve all the other issues that are faced in our society.…
