The Classical period in music spanned from approximately 1750-1830. It was called classical period due to the time period being full of art and literature. The music in the Classical period reflected the changes in society, such as the ideas of human reasoning and overcoming problems in the world.Thus, causing a conflict with new and old ideas within the world 's society. People began to realize that music was meant to be enjoyed not for just the wealthy and during a religious mass. New styles of music began to evolve such as the concerto, sonata and the symphony, these new styles were created to dazzle and impress the audience. The Classical Era was dominated by the unbelievable talents of three composers. Franz Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven, each composer influenced the world of music for generations to come. The Classical period was a time where the most important stylistic advances were created. Some people would not be familiar with these terms unless they were educated in music history or played an instrument. A form that was quite popular during the time of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven was the quartet. A quartet is a group of four or more musicians, consisting of two violins, a viola and a cello. Haydn was the one who developed it, he wrote seventy quartets between 1757 and 1803. Next is the concerto was created in 1750.
