Beginning the years of 1000 BC through 1519 AD we are introduced to the Native American people. There were too main sites within the area and one being named the valley of Mexico. The valley of Mexico on the modern map is located in Mexico City and it is surrounded and covered with mountains. Around these mountains was very dry fertile and loosely packed soil. They also get really heavy rains throughout the year for two months, which creates earth slides, and moon slopes, creating great fresh soil for the farmers with in those months This was in fact the 8th, 9th, and 10th most fertile soil. Their main problem was what do they do when there isn’t any rain for the rest of the year, which in fact caused an environmental reality. In this civilization there were tow main tribes. One being the Toltec that took over in the years 100 C to 500 AD. They way they survived was by there crops, also known as their staples from the theory, were the maize and manioc. The maize was a form of corn and it was their main staples and eventually spread through an enormous range. The manioc in fact was more strange. It was a potato like food that grew underground. This was in fact good because since it grew underground it was less likely to become damaged. It was also an edible weed and that was also a plus because inspired itself so that therefore meant that there was less labor on that crop meaning that the farmers can spend more time doing something else that is important making it also a surplus of labor, going back to the theory. Both crops worked very well together and they grew equal amounts of it, which made this a unique point because instead of having one main staple they had two, which again is what they had most to be grown and harvested.
