The Civilian Conservation Corps During The Great Depression

In the Great Depression, there were hardly any jobs. So, Franklin D. Roosevelt, also known as FDR, came up with a plan called the “New Deal.” The three main goals of this plan was relief, recovery, and reform. To accomplish those tasks, many groups were formed. One of those groups was the Civilian Conservation Corps, also known as the CCC. The main goal of the Civilian Conservation Corps was to put young men from ages eighteen to twenty-five to work and to solve the physical problems of the nation.
The Civilian Conservation Corps was first organized in 1933 and ended in 1942. The founder of the CCC was Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Civilian Conservation Corps paid a small wage of $30 a month. Off that pay, $25 of the pay was sent home right away
