The Civil War is one of the most remarkable wars in American History. This took place from 1861 to 1865 and was between the United States of America and the Confederate States of America. The war was caused by the North and the South who were having issues about slavery, the presidency, and more. This made the South want to secede from North, thus taking them to war. During the war, there were some intense battles, problems with slavery in rural and daily life, hardships with families, industrialization was evolving, etc. After the Civil War ended, the United States continued to remain together and many things came into act. To start, the Civil War came upon and began on April 12th, 1861 but they did have many problems prior to this. Slavery came a long time in the 1600’s but wasn’t so large until like the late 1700’s. Slavery was very much needed in the South opposed to the North, the North had manufacturing, some industrialization, trading and more that they did not need slaves anymore. At the start of the American Revolution in 1776, three-quarters of the slaves were in the South. One by one, Northern legislatures outlawed slavery. By 1846 it had been abolished in every Northern state (Golay, M). One problem with slavery came around in 1850’s and this was when the Pennsylvania Quakers were helpers to the slaves.
