A. Please describe the history and mission of applicant organization:
The City of Lake Elsinore is the second oldest city in Riverside County and is located along Interstate 15 in Southwest Riverside County within District 1. The City of Lake Elsinore was incorporated in 1888 and today is one of the fastest growing cities in the County, State and Country. The City’s current population is 61,981. Has your organization received Community Designation Funds in the past four years? From which district(s)? Amount? Please indicate the specific project name, start/finish dates, and break down of how funds were spent.
Yes, the City of Lake Elsinore did receive $3,000 in funding for last year’s clean up event from District 1. The project was Clean Extreme, which was on Saturday, April 23 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. along Graham Ave. The funds were spent to purchase supplies, equipment and volunteer T-shirts to assist in the cleanup of key projects along this County/City corridor including the Library.
I. Explain how the funding project benefits constituents of the First District.
This funding benefits the constituents by bringing together residents from both the City and surrounding county areas to work together to make long-lasting improvements to a critical corridor in the City and County area – Graham Avenue in our Historic Downtown area. By doing so, we aim to improve pride in our community and inspire others to give back and take part in community service. Together, we can make a difference in our communities and we look forward to sharing this with the many youth that participate in this event and others who drive by and see the improvements made to this critical part of our
