The hospitality of country folk seems to be more welcoming. In my experience, people living in the mountains always greeted other people nicely. There is a sense of belonging and welcoming that you feel when you are in the country. The hospitality of the city might not be as sweet. Many people on the streets in the city walk by and hardly ever greet one another. Sometimes when saying hello to someone, they won’t even respond back. Most of this is due to the fast paced nature of city life. The level of frustration and stress in the city plays a big role in this, whereas the mountains of North Carolina are peaceful. When living in the mountains and country, most people can leave there car door unlocked. There is often a sense of trust when out in the country. Living in the mountains has its perks of being safe and isolated. Many people often keep to themselves in the mountains, and live isolated. It’s a whole different story when living in New York. In my experience being cautious and locking your car doors was safe. Crime rates are significantly worse in the city. There is a higher chance of homicides and burglaries by far. Thievery seems to be more common too, because of the poverty in some areas of the city. In general people are more prepared to face crime when in the city of New York. Considering both lifestyles have criminals, and share laws, it’s safer to stay in the country. Then again both life styles’ populations need to be aware of criminals among
